I rode out at Wilson River Trail this weekend. I usually just go to Brown’s Camp or Gales, but figured what the heck and drive the extra mileage to Elk Creek and do the WRT.I’ve never ridden it and have to say even though it was uphill my whole ride (it was getting dark so I turned around) it is a really nice trail. It needs some tree cleaning from the storms, but the tread is really nice.Typical oregon Snow?the bike likes the viewthe view

Just in case you didn’t know a couple hours drive north of Portland was blasted with a super winter storm.  We got lucky and had rain mostly.

pictures from my failed attempt in Tillamook State Forrest yesterday

Here are some pics of the trail at Gales Creek. You will notice a ton of snow. So, I didn’t mountain Bike, I just hiked around until my shoes got cold and wet.

Where is the trail?

No biking today, just hikers

Guess I won’t be back up there till a bit later (April?)

Snowy day

We actually had snow today in Beaverton. This marks the second or third time this winter that we actually had some type of white fluffy stuff on the ground where I live. In the Portland metro area they were predicting that we would be seeing scenes from “The Day After Tomorrow” and as my wife exclaimed yesterday “they even interrupted Oprah with a breaking news story that some snow was coming”.

All this makes for some pretty good comedy when it doesn’t snow or only snows an inch. Especially to my friends and family in other states that have been inundated with snow this year.

Anyway here are some pictures,
Have fun, stay warm.

The day after tomorrow this will be gone

And finally a slideshow with more pictures that didn’t turn out as well:
