In case you missed it yesterday, the Team Zendoughnut store went live.  It will be open until March 31st so get your orders in soon.

http://www.panachecyclewear.com/store/zendoughnut.html

-Jeremy

NOTE: You will not have to join the team to get a super sexy jersey. I will have some extras for the guys and gals who want to show their support. Also, if you were considering joining to ride and fund raise for some charities contact me. After the pre-order the price will be going up as I move the extras over to store.zendoughnut.com. So if you want a good deal, order now.

team zendoughnut: BOOM! Contract signed with Panache Cyclewear

zendoughnut:

Happy Friday! We signed the contract with Panache and they will be getting our store up and running soon. I am in awe of this moment. A dream at the end of last year is now becoming more and more a reality everyday. Also by my calculations using strings and other complicated technology we will…

Some good news for a Friday. We are one step closer to getting that kit out the door.

Here is what I will be riding this week. I brought it home from the Titus/On-One-PlanetX Portland Headquarters this afternoon to test. This thing is “Hella-Light” compared to the CX bike I normally ride for a road bike. I can’t wait to get out and battle “My Nemesis” on it.

Planet X Nanolight Force Carbon Road Bike
Top of the range high modulus carbon road frame featuring SRAM Force components at an unbelievably good value price. Race ready, superbly lightweight and responsive carbon thoroughbread- pretty much the same frame that our Pro sponsored Guru race team ride and widely endorsed by our pro and former pro riders…

Some details on the frame here

Hooray! my OBRA essentials came in the mail.
I almost fainted when I pulled it out of the envelope.  I thought for a second my number was going to be 1337 which we all know in Leetspeak would make me an uber hacker elite, but 5337 equals Seet in Leetspeak, which is lame.  I think OBRA is trying to say something here.
Seet

A contraction of the word sweet, it is often spoken sarcastically and carries a negative connotation. The word conveys the most meaning when responding to a conversation that one simply does not care about, or finds silly and childish (Example 1). While the response doesn’t seem rude on paper, the word alone can make a person feel inferior and inadequate. Also, when used as part of a conversation, it can be used to show disappointment, or anger (Example 2). It can be used as an adjective, describing a specific situation, article of clothing, hair style, someone’s house or car, and so on (Example 3). While most users understand the sarcasm behind the word, some use the word as a replacement for the word sweet, and adapt it into their vocabulary. These people are called seetsters.
Example 1: Alex: “This weekend I got so drunk I couldn’t even speak English anymore.” Kevin: “Seet.” Example 2: Alex: “Hey baby, I’m not gonna be able to take you to that movie on Friday night anymore. The guys wanna get some grub and go to the game.” Kelly: “Seet, we’ve had these plans for two weeks.” Alex: “I know baby, I’m sorry.” Example 3: Zach: “Whoa dude, look at Alex’s jeans today.” Kenny: “Who does he think he is, Tupac or something?” Zach: “Yeah, maybe. Seet jeans Alex.”

The Cygnet Cycle, ca. 1898 Stoddard Manufacturing Co. Dayton, Ohio United States The Cygnet’s curved frame was designed to absorb all shocks; a beautiful and rare feature was its celluloid fender.

This craigslist ad popped up on my GooglePlus page and it got me interested in finding out more about the bike.  As I posted on my other social places, “If only I had the money, I’d get this and restore it for my wife”.  The finished bike (pictured) is beautiful.  The one in the craigslist ad looks a little beat, but could eventually be amazing.  I hope some museum picks it up.

New Salvagetti shop gives commuters their fix

Congrats to Scott, Salvagetti is by far the best little shop in Denver.

New Salvagetti shop gives commuters their fix DENVER, CO (BRAIN)—With an emphasis on quick repairs for transportation cyclists, Salvagetti Bicycle Workshop will open a small satellite shop in 220 square feet in Denver’s Baker neighborhood, four miles from its main location. Salvagetti owner Scott Taylor said the new shop, which will open in the coming weeks behind his planned Happy Coffee café, is a response to requests from customers who live in the neighborhood, which currently does not have a bike shop. “It’s a store geared toward keeping your bike going, to the commuter,” he said. “Commuters need a place to just pop in and not miss their ride.” The new shop will be staffed by a single mechanic and will be open five days a week in the spring and summer, three days in the fall and winter.

10 speed is so last yea…oh wait what?!?

This cassette goes to 12. KCNC is going to be shipping this 12 speed road and a 11 speed mountain cassette.  The MTB cassette looks beautiful, like a piece of art.  One could run a 1x11 on a 29er and be happy I think.
