How the Dutch got their cycle paths
1. Citizens reaction to fatalities, mainly of the slaughter of children by motor vehicles
2. The oil embargo in the 70’s
3. The transformation of old cities to accommodate motor vehicle traffic
All leading to public outrage and protests for change in the policies to focus from car centric to bike centric.
Do we have the will to do the same?

Kind of fun to think about on your next commute. If you are in stuck in traffic 20 cars deep and 3 lanes wide the road is probably only moving 60 people to their destination. Kind of a waste.
I know it is a over simplification and there are other factors, but dang it is neat to think about.
